About Us
In September 2016, Shir Hadash launched a new satellite branch in Jerusalem’s popular German Colony neighborhood. Founded by a motivated and talented core group of young families, this branch instantly flourished, attracting hundreds of participants from across Jerusalem to enjoy a spirited davening, meaningful Torah learning, a warm community environment and an extensive youth program.
As the shul grew, and while we maintain a close relationship and have tremendous gratitude to Rabbi Pear and Shir Hadash, in order to reflect the growth of the shul (and to remove confusion about other shuls with similar names ) we decided to rename the shul Or Hadash in January 2025. We hope to continue to grow!
Or Hadash strives to be a diverse and multi-generational home for Olim and Vatikim alike, with a special focus on helping families with young children strengthen their connection - and contribution - to Jerusalem. It is a supportive and welcoming space where members and visitors can share in the celebration of Jewish life.
